The designers and manufacturers of THE ROCK take safety
issues to the extreme. Therefore the walls are engineered to
meet the most stringent specifications and standards
worldwide.
The Rock walls are equipped with one to six dual
"auto-belay" safety systems and one to six
climbing routes. The design specifications meet the
American Society of Testing & Material (ASTM) standards,
as set by the Amusement Park industry. This certification
allows ease of entry into major amusement parks.
All equipment including; ropes, belaying devices, harnesses
and carabiners meet specifications set forth by the
UNION INTERNATIONALE DES ASSOCIATIONS D’ALPINISME
(UIAA),
an organization that defines standards for climbing
equipment.
The
dual-hydraulic auto-belay system ensures maximum safety for
Wall climbers. Both hydraulic systems would have to fail at
the same exact time for complete component failure. Although
dual failure is very unlikely to occur, the hydraulic valves
built into the system would still lower the climber at a
safe rate of decent.
